Title: Medical Records Coordinator

Job Duties: The Medical Records Coordinator provides support to staff and to the medical records department by assisting with monitoring and maintaining timely and complete medical records of clients. Accuracy and thoroughness are important, as it may affect legal liability of the facility. Ensures professional contact with all levels of staff and other stakeholders, including nursing staff, supervisors, physicians, clients, and families.

Ensures professional contact with all levels of staff and other stakeholders, including nursing staff, supervisors, physicians, clients, and families.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

* A high school graduate/GED.

* A minimum of two years' experience in medical records or ward clerk position.

* Ability to spell accurately and write legibly.

* Exhibits proficiency in clerical procedures.

* Demonstrates willingness to learn.

* Must be able to work systematically, show initiative, and follow through on procedures without continuous supervision or guidance.

* Must be tactful and give clear instructions, both verbal and in writing.

* Must be positive in dealing with facility and medical staff; skilled in interpersonal relations.

* Must be able to exercise judgment, work independently, and make decisions in determining when professional advice is required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Monitors records for complete client identification, including client name, ID number, and attending physician name.

* Maintains health records in correct filing order and in good condition.

* Monitors records for signatures/dates by appropriate staff providing services to the client.

* Assembles new admission records and maintains adequate supply of high-quality records/forms.

* Assists with transfer/discharge documentation for clients.

* Photocopies documents and answer phones as needed.

* Assists nursing and program with audits and monitoring records.

* Acts as liaison between nursing, medical records coordinator, and ancillary disciplines.

* Follows prescribed requirements for confidentiality and release of record information.

* Monitors for maintaining records according to documentation standards.

* Completes duties as outlined in medical records departmental procedures manual.

About the Campus: Crestwood Center is a Mental Health Rehabilitation Center located in Angwin amidst the beautiful hills of the Napa Valley. The facility provides a variety of classes for clients to participate in during their recovery program and encourages active participation in treatment planning from admission.

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay per hour at the time of posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to candidate's skills, experience, licensure, and program acuity.

Pay Range:

$20-$26 USD
