The Network Administrator supports, manages, and ensures the operating capability of both the LAN, WAN, and VOIP networks are available for all hours of operation. This role maintains adequate knowledge of existing hardware and software used to maximize the efficiency of the network and users' utilization.

What To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)

  • Act as the situation manager to repair and reform unplanned events that adversely affect the network or computing environment.
  • Ensure hardware, software, network upgrades, installs, re-installs, changes, and relocations are efficiently completed.
  • Install, configure, and maintain PCs, file servers, network cabling, and Ethernet networks.
  • Add and maintain users on the network; assign application access, ensure security, and maintain configurations. Assist in providing computer and network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users.
  • Troubleshoot computing systems, networks, and applications to identify malfunctions.
  • Investigate, recommend, and install enhancements as well as operating procedures that regulate network availability.
  • Participate in team meetings, provide input as well as suggestions, and prepare minutes.
  • Plan and implement network security, set up firewalls, manage host security, apply cryptography to network applications, and regulate file permissions.


What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree.
  • 3+ years of work experience in a Client/Server environment.
  • CNE, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Prior experience supporting, implementing, and/or administering networks such as Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and application software utilized to provide support to users.


How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of work experience supporting, implementing, and/or administering networks such as Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
  • Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and/or Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA).
