Job Duties

Provides a range of casework management services, programming, and guidance for inmates in a correctional facility to enhance the security of the facility and promote inmates' long-term pro-social behaviors. Manage the inmate work program within the assigned cluster. Manages a specialized case load. Provides counseling, classification, case management, crisis intervention services for assigned caseload. Sponsors and/or facilitates program groups and supervises volunteers as appropriate. Prepares and maintains constant observation and follow through with pre-release planning for inmates, ensuring all relevant classification paperwork is timely, accurate and complete. Prepare inmates for release by conducting treatment programs that are relevant and evidenced based.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Experience in counseling, rehabilitation, or casework management. Working knowledge of principles and practices of counseling, casework and treatment methods, behavior modification and inmate restoration rehabilitation. Experience facilitating rehabilitative programs and/or therapeutic and/or psycho-educational groups. Experience preparing reports. Demonstrated ability to counsel and interact with inmates to develop, implement, and follow through on treatment plans and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office products.
