Job Details
As the Production Supervisor you will oversee all production, this includes ensuring the equipment is operating effectively and efficiently for the operators in order to meet the production needs. There will be times where this person may need to troubleshoot breakdowns with the maintenance teams to get production back on track.
Positions are hands on, you are working directly with the Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager as one of the key leaders at site to ensure production targets are met and on budget.
You will manage grinding and manufacturing process's including Grinding, Raw Material Blending, Extrusion, Special Shapes, and Packaging.
Duties And Responsibilities
Supervisor Safety Responsibilities:
- Responsible for safe operation of all manufacturing processes to include coordinating department safety training for all employees, both individual & group level, and maintaining all training documentation as required
- Responsible for the implementation of the LOTO and all other GG Safety Policies and Procedures
- Organize and coordinate Safety Tool Box Talks as required
- Responsible for Safety, Quality and Housekeeping audits in all responsible departments
- Responsible for all accident investigations for all responsible departments
Manufacturing Responsibilities
- Product quality, meeting all established company quality standards - training of all responsible staffing to maintain or exceed this standard
- Manage the grinding and manufacturing process to include but not limited to: Grinding, Raw Material Blending, Extrusion, Special Shapes, and Packaging
- Manufacturing crews will consist of 15-20 employees
- Preventative maintenance/repairs in the facility and all equipment in department of responsibility
- Direct reports - crushing/grinding, extrusion, coating mixing, molded manufacturing, setting
- Responsible for goal setting and annual reviews (performance management)
- Responsible for scheduling, labor management and daily functions
- Vacation scheduling
- Maintaining Hourly staffing
- Responsible for enforcing discipline of employees when applicable, per Plant Rules and Plant Safety policies
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators and metrics to adequately control quality and costs as associated department of responsibilities
- Attend meetings with Operations management staff
- Monitor and improve efficiencies, reducing downtime in all associated departments
- Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to plant management
- Responsible for assuring manufacturing and associated maintenance costs are maintained within budgeted levels
- Responsible for Continuous Improvement (CI) activities in associated departments
- Responsible for entering Purchase Orders into ERP system
Requirements and Skills:
- Technical Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- 5-year minimum work experience in an industrial manufacturing work environment
- Supervisory and management experience in a production manufacturing environment
- Ability to work multiple shifts
- General mechanical skills and abilities.
- Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel
