What you get to do:Are you ready to have a blast with our Sesame Place Entertainment Team? If the answer to that question is YES, then the birthday/VIP host is the position for you!
As a birthday/VIP host in Entertainment, you will bring lasting memories of Sesame Street to life while also bringing joy and laughter to the lives of others. Aside from the additional responsibilities, such as, maintaining cleanliness in all venues, etc. You will:
- Provide exemplary service to guests and ambassadors.
- Develop skills/knowledge to maintain excellent quality meet & greets with our guests.
- Adapt to each event to properly tailor the respective experience.
- Assist those in character costumes with dressing and undressing if needed.
- Work with cast/crew and management to maintain the integrity of our meet & greets and parties.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors, and our Guests.
- Always maintain cleanliness and professional manner.
What it takes to succeed:- Must be available Thursday thru Sunday Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, typical shift time 10:30-4:00. Weekends in September and October, typical shift time 2:15pm-6:00pm
- A passion for customer service and providing a fun experience.
- Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Active listener with the ability to anticipate guests' needs.
- Flexibility to perform varied duties.
- Prior performance experience is not needed.
What else is important:- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs
- Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift
- Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
- Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
- Willingness to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat and cold temperatures.
- Provide flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends and holidays) and adhere to our Holiday and Availability agreement.
- Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations.
- Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines.
- This is a part-time position; all candidates hired for these roles will remain in good standings to continue working in the Entertainment Department
