Job Details

Manually move freight, stock, or other materials or perform other general labor.

What You'll Do

  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or other equipment.
  • Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
  • Stack cargo in locations such as transit sheds or in holds of trucks as directed, using pallets or cargo boards.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
  • Follow a range of mandatory procedures and methods of work (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
  • Able to identify incoming quality issues and notify correct parties for resolution.
  • Able to perform accurate system transactions with a hand-held scanner or at computer terminal with a 100% accuracy.
  • Able to read and interpret extrusion labels.
  • Able to identify extrusions, glass and other materials that are in their assigned areas.
  • Safely loads and unloads extrusion racks with an overhead crane and performs necessary system transactions accurately.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision to complete tasks.
  • Uses clear and effective written and verbal communications skills to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies.
  • Works to achieve full compliance with applicable rules and regulations in management and/or operations.
  • Works to optimize the utilization of production plant, equipment and materials applying knowledge of laws, regulations and policies in area of expertise.
  • Works to ensure that all production operations generate high-quality results.

Who You Are

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Certified forklift operator preferred
  • Material handling and/or Warehouse experience preferred
