Our subsidiary, Universal Capacity Solutions is hiring for a Pricing Manager.


Skills and Experiences:

  • Experience in Pricing including ratemaking techniques and analytical modeling experience
  • High level of problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
  • Required 5+ years' experience in a pricing role
  • Previous experience in logistics industry, specifically intermodal/drayage is a huge plus*
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in business related field; finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or logistics
  • Proficient experience in analyzing cost data and commercial advantages
  • Modeling skills a plus


Job Description:

The Pricing Manager is responsible for developing rate indications and rate monitoring for our Intermodal Transportation Services division. Communicate with Leadership about developments in the product, work with Sales and Operations to develop and maintain an industry-leading product portfolio, and developing and executing a robust rate filing strategy.


This Pricing Manager is the point person for all Transportation pricing activities and has responsibility for communicating with Senior Leaders and across functions to ensure on-time pricing models. This position will also be responsible for data analysis, continuous process improvement, and employee development. This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to develop and apply Universal s transportation strategies as well as collaboration across multiple departments throughout the organization.


A high level of responsibility will be given requiring the ability to multi-task and achieve sometimes tough deadlines. There will be a high degree of interaction with internal stakeholders and suppliers, requiring effective communication skills


Day to day:

  • Develop a pricing review process which uses both the standard and advanced pricing techniques
  • Lead a team of 4+ Pricing Analysts
  • Develop and execute filing strategy
  • Work collaboratively as a part of the transportation planning process
  • Conduct and present pricing reviews with buyers and purchasing members
  • Main contact for a majority of OEM s procurement and purchasing teams
  • Lead Negotiates regarding rate increase and contract renewals
  • Develop and communicate business analysis to Senior Leadership
  • Support improvement within the team and across the broader team members
  • Supervise and develop direct reports; including developing and executing vision for team and broader department
  • Develop existing and new supply chain opportunities.
  • Support development of our pricing associates and according to goals and objectives
  • Co-ordinate all Requests for Quotations (RFQ) activities
  • Continue development of new processes to industry best practices.
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organization skills.
