Machine Technician

Summary:
Operation and set up of machines according to quality specifications to ensure product conforms to finish dimensions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sets up machine, including tool changes, according to instructions, specifications, and SOPs.
- Selects, places and secures tooling in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
- Calculates material removal from part
- Sets gages to measure OD, ID, 3pt race, and offset.
- Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines
- Follows all plant safety regulations.
- Supports departmental performance goals
- Must be able to learn and operate multiple machines
- Performs other machining duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to details.
- Ability to sign off paperwork to maintain job accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to work safely and wear personal protective equipment.
- Ability to perform inspections and take responsibility for work quality.
- Ability to use/read micrometers, calipers, and measurement gauges.
- Ability to read/write/speak English.
- Ability to work independently in a high stress environment.
- Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.
Special Requirements: - Candidates must pass a near vision eye test to Jaeger 1 and a color perception test.
- Competent in general math.
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Education Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Demands: - Must be able to move/lift up to 50lbs at times.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, and climb to access parts of the machines.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Working Conditions: - Works on a climate-controlled factory floor with small amounts of machine noise.
- PPE required.
