What We Are Looking For

The Department of Theatre Arts seeks an Box Office Associate to support the day-to-day operations of the Department of Theatre Arts. This position will assist the needs of the Box Office Manager and the Department Office Manager. Prior box office and administrative experience is preferred. This position will also aide in all marketing campaigns and social media promotions. Prior marketing and social media experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, creative, and have expertise in providing excellent customer service. The candidate must work well in a team environment.

A High School Diploma with one year of relevant experience and an active Christian faith are required. A Bachelor's Degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred. Experience and education may be considered in lieu of one another.

All applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

* Assist with marketing needs. This could include but is not limited to: designing marketing materials, developing social media and email marketing campaigns, and updating the website.

* Be proficient or willing to be self-taught in Adobe Suite: (Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom, and Premiere)

* Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications: (Word and Excel)

* Knowledge of Canva, Hootsuite, and MailChimp

* Greet and assist all who visit the box office

* Assist the Box Office Manager with any job-related tasks including financial reporting

* Manage events using internet-based software such as Paciolan and EPIC

* Answer a wide range of phone call inquiries relating to Baylor Theatre

* Take and process ticket orders for individuals and groups during regular business hours

* Sell season tickets, and manage renewals and changes to season ticket orders

* Handle cash, credit, and check transactions for the box office

* Maintain databases for patron relations, advertising, and events

* Assist in running the box office for all mainstage shows including working the box office, and training house managers. This will include some nights and weekends.

* Assist House Managers with patrons during the run of a show

* Assist with other hosted events in our theatres

* Collaborate with departmental faculty and staff on event management and planning

* Perform administrative functions to ensure efficient operation of the front office

* Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.

* Ability to comply with University policies.

* Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
