The Senior Sales Director is responsible for leading and growing a strategic sales territory in the Midwest region - reporting to the VP, Midwest Sales, this role is also responsible for leading and developing senior relationships in the allocated region to drive real value for our clients through GumGum products; specifically this role will have a core focus in Chicago/the Publicis Hold Co. and surrounding territories with opportunity to be supported by an Account Executive.

Senior Sales Directors have a deep knowledge of the online media landscape, the advertising community and have 8+ years of proven media sales experience as well as 2+ years of management experience. The Senior Sales Director is a self-motivated leader who can work with internal teams and is committed to achieving and exceeding sales goals while growing GumGum s products in their allocated region.

Note: This position offers the opportunity for remote work or 'work from home' as there isn't a nearby office. What You'll Achieve

  • Midwest Sales Team Management and Support:
    • Recruit, onboard, develop, manage, and retain team members.
    • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth.
    • Provide meaningful feedback and coaching through regular reviews.
    • Implement best practices for skill and knowledge development.
    • Model company values and ethical leadership.
  • Drive Revenue for MW Territories:
    • Develop account-based strategies for growth within assigned accounts.
    • Drive new business and grow existing partnerships, targeting approx $7M+ annually.
    • Make senior-level introductions to drive business and relationships.
  • Relationship Development:
    • Cultivate senior-level relationships with brands and agencies.
    • Provide client insights to internal Product Team.
    • Collaborate with Client Strategists, Account Managers, and internal teams for successful implementation.
  • Strategic Sales - Develop, manage, and execute strategic sales opportunities with the Strategic Growth team.

Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Media, Marketing, or Advertising
  • 8+ years in digital advertising sales with a $5MM+ book of business
  • 2+ years managing a sales team with significant revenue targets ($10M+ preferred)
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets with senior-level contacts in the Midwest
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills for sales team members
  • Proficient in Salesforce, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Quick problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of business drivers (P/L, Revenue, etc.)
  • Analytical skills for data interpretation and solution development
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and passionate about the product
  • Outgoing with strong client relationship skills

What We Offer

At GumGum, competitive base pay is a part of a total rewards package which also includes benefits, an emphasis on recognition, development, and wellness. The reasonable estimated base pay range for this role is from ($152,000 -$175,000) annually. The actual amount may be higher or lower. Individual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, work location, and labor market conditions.

The total rewards package offered also includes an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan, and depending on the role, participation in a bonus, commission, or stock incentive program.
