Position Overview

Disassemble custom and/or standard product from blueprints by assembling mechanical parts, components and/or products under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fits and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches and knowledge of machine construction to construct and rebuild equipment using hand tools and power tools. Pulls parts/kit orders and prepares for delivery to paint or shipping as required.
  • Verifies conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints using measuringinstruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers. Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly.
  • Set up, fit, bolt and dowel in place large parts such as frames, brackets, etc.
  • Positions parts and components such as motors, gear boxes, drive trains inand on frame of machine.
  • Manage assembly time to ensure completion of assigned projects within specified time frame.
  • Dissemble and inspect machine after testing to prepare for shipment to customer.
  • Communicate internally with contacts outside the work group to exchange work related information.
  • Perform activities planned by others.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Rexnord policies, 5S procedures, and in line with Rexnord core values.

Job Requirements
  • 2 or more years of experience.
  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on some instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Effectively communicate and work ina team environment.
  • Knowledge of various metals and of measurements used in machining processes.
  • Accurately read and comprehend blue prints, work instructions, etc.
  • Ability to write to record basic information
  • Knowledge of and ability to compute basic arithmetic skills such as, or comparable to: add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to use a computer with clear instructions and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to select and adjust appropriate tools, objects or materials to attain demanding standards in different work situations.
  • Knowledge and ability to solve problems that may be frequent but easy to recognize.
