Director of Research Development
The position of Research and Development (R&D) Director involves overseeing daily and short-term operations focused on culinary innovation for new products or technologies, as well as their commercialization, to align with the Company s strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Research & Development department to achieve objectives in new product development, including project management and budget oversight.
- Develop short-term R&D strategies aligning with long-term company goals.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute tests to assess the feasibility, scalability, and market potential of new culinary concepts and products.
- Address challenges in new product development, collaborating with Quality and Technical Services for solutions.
- Work closely with sales, business development, technical service, and production teams.
- Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation of Culinary, Commercialization, and Project Management personnel.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in food manufacturing R&D, with an advanced degree in chemistry, food science, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of managerial experience.
- Proficiency in research, project management methodologies, technology development, and product innovation.
- Effective communicator with a proven ability to foster cross-functional collaboration across departments like sales, marketing, purchasing, operations, and production.
- Demonstrated leadership promoting staff development and leveraging team talents.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
