Security Dispatcher


Job Details

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Receive and prioritize incoming calls from various sources, including emergency services, customers, and internal staff

- Gather relevant information from callers to assess the nature of the situation and determine appropriate response

- Dispatch appropriate personnel, such as law enforcement officers or service technicians, to designated locations

- Maintain accurate records of all calls received and actions taken

- Monitor CCTV cameras and surveillance systems to identify potential security threats or incidents

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient coordination of resources

- Provide clear and concise instructions to field personnel regarding assignments and priorities

- Utilize computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and other software applications to document incidents and generate reports

- Handle escalated calls or complaints with professionalism and effective conflict management techniques

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Previous experience in dispatching or a related field is preferred

- Knowledge of report writing procedures and practices

- Familiarity with law enforcement protocols and procedures is a plus

- Possession of a valid Dispatching certificate is an advantage

- Experience in loss prevention or surveillance is beneficial

QUALIFICATIONS

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Proficient in using computer systems, including CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite

- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

- Effective conflict management skills

Licenses / Certificates:

Ability to obtain/renew all government required licenses or certification

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance visions, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
