Import Export Specialist
Job Details
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for all inbound receipts for assigned Free Trade Zone locations.
Communicate with respective Free Trade Zone locations to coordinate and validate inventory.
Respond timely to email inquiries regarding international logistics
Audit Entry/Entry Summary, Free Trade Zone data with customs broker for forwarding
Correspond with foreign vendors and purchasing dept. to obtain documents and information necessary for Customs clearance
Consult directly with brokers to troubleshoot problems and coordinate action items for improvement
Classify products with HTS code
File quarterly HMF reports with U.S. Customs
Audit import & export files for recordkeeping compliance
Audit entry summaries from Customs Brokers for accuracy and compliance
Resolve errors found on entry summaries with brokers
Maintain written operating procedures for internal compliance programs and nominated U.S. Customs brokers
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Free Trade Zones and related operational activities
Knowledge and understanding of U.S. Customs regulations
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Familiar with ACE reporting
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree is preferred
Certified Customs Specialist designation preferred
At least one year of experience in a customs warehouse or working with import procedures
Prior experience preparing customs and shipping documents preferred.
