We are currently hiring for an Ice Cream Associate at the South Mountain Creamery location in Chambersburg, PA (formerly Trickling Springs Creamery).
Our Ice Cream Team is vital to creating high quality farm fresh products that is distributed to home delivery and wholesale customers alike.
This position reports to the Production Manager and is anticipated to work M-F, 9am-5:30pm with some flexibility to help on other shifts (i.e. come in early or stay past 5:30pm) as requested by management.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Ability to communicate clearly & work well with others.
Own method of transportation.
Positive attitude, responsible, honest, dependable, and hardworking.
Ability to work 8+ hours on concrete floor in a medium to fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
Multitask & work independently.
Clean up and maintain a high standard of organization & cleanliness.
Make ice cream by following recipes and learning the procedures involved in making our product.
Experience in food production, particularly in ice cream.
Knowledge of food safety protocols & practices.
Operating ice cream machines & equipment correctly & safely.
Use proper sanitation & cleaning methods to machinery to prevent cross contamination.
Day shift M-F 9-5:30.
Must be 18 or older to operate equipment.
Must be able to work overtime & holidays.
Must learn our CIP (clean in place) system, hookups, transferring cream from tanks.
Working in a cold environment
Work is performed in warehouse and refrigerated settings; you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while working safely and efficiently. This position involves intermittent lifting of roughly 25lbs from ground level to waist high using proper lifting techniques. Bending and other physical tasks are required. Experience is a plus, but not necessary for this position.
Basic math, computation and paperwork completion is required. Team members may assist with documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting as required by law and/or regulatory agencies, (i.e. FDA, OSHA, USDA, etc.)
