Our client in Poughkeepsie NY is seeking a Material Handler to join their team. As a Material Handler, you will be part of the lumber yard team supporting the yard, retail store and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have forklift, shipping/receiving and loading/unloading skills which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Lumber Yard / Forklift Operator
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
Pay Range: $17.00 per hour
Shift- Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:00pm and Saturday 8am-4pm (Rotating Saturday's).
What s the Job?
- Responsible for managing and distributing lumber within the lumberyard while using a forklift
- Perform physical tasks, such as carrying lumber and handling company inventory.
- Pile boards based on specific sorts, operate trim & saw size.
- Compile and record daily production data.
- Educate customers on product offerings, helping them select suitable lumber products.
What s Needed?
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Stamina & ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Customer Service skills
- Pallet Jack & Forklift experience needed
- Retail knowledge a plus but not necessary
