JOB TITLE: Attendance Clerk WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt
(PK, Elem, MS & HS)

REPORTS TO: Principal PAY GRADE: Clerical/Tech (4)

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Coordination of the process of the automated student attendance accounting at the campus, create and maintain the campus student attendance records and reports, and assist with the promotion of enhancing student attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with children
General knowledge of office equipment

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Show evidence of commitment to the Seguin ISD technology goals and objectives.
  1. Enter, maintain, and compile automated student attendance data and generate reports of student absentees.
  1. Answer incoming calls.
  1. Contact home by telephone to ascertain reasons for students' absences and perform receptionist duties in the attendance office.
  1. Compile and maintain student demographic data for school attendance reports.
  1. Generate weekly and periodic student membership reports for the campus.
  1. Communicate with and assist staff in matters of student attendance or as may be required by the principal.
  1. Support and carry out activities adopted by the campus to promote student attendance.
  1. Interact with students, parents, and staff on student attendance so as to promote a positive attitude on the part of all concerned toward the role of the school.
  1. Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the principal.
