Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an exceptional Director of Process Safety Management (PSM) . The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background, significant industry experience, and the ability to build organizational bench strength.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Leadership: Lead the process safety function globally.
- Process Hazard Analysis: Oversee the execution of global PHA programs.
- Safety Assurance Programs: Implement and manage a comprehensive process safety assurance program.
- Awareness Programs: Develop and execute global process safety awareness programs.
- Stakeholder Influence: Influence plant and country managers and collaborate with the Director of Operational Excellence, Global Experts, and manufacturing teams.
- Team Empowerment: Mentor and develop Process Safety Engineers, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: 10-25 years in chemical engineering with plant experience, particularly in large continuous equipment and large-scale commodity manufacturing. Experience in OSHA PSM, oil and gas, and hazardous materials is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in PHA, QRA, LOPA, Mechanical Integrity, Safety Instrumented Systems, and ALARP.
- Education: Chemical or process engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, influence without direct authority, and manage cross-functional global teams.
Career Progression:
Opportunities for upward mobility within two to three years into roles such as H&S and Environmental Quality Director, Asset Integrity, Operational Excellence roles, Plant Manager, Site Director, or eventually SVP.
