Employment Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week, 5:30 am 2:00 pm
Summary
Process paperwork each patient needs prior to being admitted in a timely manner to ensure the surgery experience is positive.
Education Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience Required
Position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience working or volunteering in a hospital or healthcare facility.
Essential Functions
- Greet patients upon arrival and confirm prescheduled procedures
- Collect and verify basic patient information and billing information
- Review the patient's insurance ensure that it's valid, make copies of the insurance card and the patient's identification card
- Collects amount due to surgery center, such as co-pays, and provides receipt
- Instructs patient to read and sign admissions forms, release forms and insurance forms; inspects the forms to ensure each has a signature, makes copies as needed
- Describes hospital rules, such as visitor guidelines and surgical process
- Answer general questions from visitors, answer incoming phone calls, help with delivery of supplies.
- Assist with miscellaneous office work and cleaning, including the waiting area
- Print daily log every morning and lay out folders for the physician s on the schedule that day
