Duties:
  • Leads operational activities to support achievement of production goals (ie Earned hours, Scrap, Inventory turns, Productivity)
  • Direct responsibility over production supervisors: Machining, Weld, Assembly, Chemical Processing
  • Weekly coordination with Production Control and Operations to help schedule priorities in the shop (ie ship list meeting)
  • Devise new processes and refine existing processes to optimize manufacturing output.
  • Primary liaison between operations and quality control to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained while supporting optimized operational throughput.
  • Assist Inspection lab to support production throughput while assuring all customer quality standards are cost-effectively maintained
  • Support MPIP process to "right size" inspection methods and frequency to align with customer expectations and align with company cost/risk expectations
  • Optimize & Manage process development in support of New Part Introductions (NPI)
  • Manage R&D department and workflow. Work within the IPT structure to coordinate with other departments on quality, delivery, and expectations to support R&D commitments.
  • As needed, assist all Manufacturing Planners with technical issues they may have while planning a job. Collaborate with all departments to resolve inspection & production issues

  • Provide input on designing and developing special fixturing (machining, welding, assembly, etc.) to support Planning. Work with team to develop "Seyer Way" for fixturing and process design to promote Standard Work and Quick-Change fixturing concepts (S.M.E.D)
  • Support strategic initiatives around integration of automation within factory
  • Maintain an overall positive attitude within the group as well as with all other groups
  • Conform to all requirements of Seyer Industries Quality System and any and all customer-invoked quality requirements (AS-9100, for example)
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S standards.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum ten years of management experience
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner and relate in a positive fashion towards individuals throughout the company, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to deal with interruptions while completing work with deadlines.
