Position Summary
Laminators build fiberglass parts of the boat that may include the deck, hull or small parts. At Scout we use a hand lay up process of fiberglass, resins and catalysts onto mold surfaces. Team work is a large factor in the success of this process. The laminator is able to perform all the basic duties of the lamination process such as defect-free fiberglass roll out, laminate sanding prep, part inspection and defect removal.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment. Must be able to work in a hot environment
- Wear required PPE that may include gloves, safety glasses, aprons and chemical resistant suits, and safety shoes.
- Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
- Ability to work a 10 hour shift standing, bending, climbing and reaching
- Flexibility to work overtime if needed.
- No allergies to fiberglass or chemicals used in this process

- Must be able to use basic hand tools applicable to the job
- Must be able to work with a team to accomplish departmental goals
- Must follow safety standards and procedures including chemical handling and PPE
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions
- Previous marine experience preferred
- Must be able to adhere to quality and efficiency standards
