We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Shipping Clerk to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a 3pm - midnight shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of shipping routines in our fast-paced engineering manufacturing environment. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The Manufacturing Shipping Clerk will report directly to the Shipping Manager and will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products are shipped and delivered to our customers in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and execute daily shipping activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Utilize database systems to input and manage shipping data.
3. Prepare shipping documents (like invoices, purchase orders, and bills of lading) and ensure they are accurate.
4. Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries, ensuring adherence to schedules.
5. Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments, including tracking information.
6. Ensure all orders are packed, labeled, and shipped correctly.
7. Inspect shipments to ensure they are properly packaged and identify any damages.
8. Coordinate with the inventory team to ensure stock levels are maintained.
9. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures within the shipping area.
10. Provide excellent customer service, addressing any shipping related queries or issues.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a shipping clerk role, preferably in the engineering industry.
3. Proficient in database entry and management.
4. Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and protocols.
5. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
10. Familiarity with shipping software and tools is a plus.
11. Physical ability to frequently lift and carry heavy items.
12. Ability to work the 2nd shift (3pm - midnight).
