ANTICIPATED COMPUTER TECHNICIAN - LEVEL I
FULL-TIME, 12-MONTH POSITION


Goal(s)/Objective(s):

As a Level 1 Computer Technician, you must be well-versed in computer systems and basic network functions. Work diligently and accurately with great problem-solving ability in order to fix issues and ensure functionality of district computers, audio visual equipment, peripheral devices, and software.

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a technical training school; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred. A combination of work experience and education may be substituted.
  • An aptitude for acquiring skills in technical repairs and an eagerness to learn about all Apple products and other district owned devices.
  • Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT) and Apple Certified iOS Technician (ACiT) Certified preferred.
  • Understanding of Apple Global Service Exchange (GSX).
  • CompTia A+ preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of installing, repairing, maintaining MAC Hardware (iPads, iMacs, Macbooks), MAC Software (macOS), device inventory management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational, multitask, prioritization, written and oral communication skills.
  • Success in team environments, demonstrating shared responsibility and accountability with other team members.
  • Ability to problem solve basic hardware and software problems.
  • Field experience with installation and maintenance of printer hardware/software.
  • Experience using Google (G-Suite) and Microsoft Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. First line help desk; resolve issues in a Mac OS and iOS environments.
  2. Identify and coordinate repairs with outside vendors, when necessary and approved by the CTO.
  3. Stay up to date with current product qualifications through ATLAS (Apple Technical Learning Administration System).
  4. Provide tech support to faculty, staff, and students.
  5. Support all classroom technology including Interactive Boards, Projectors, Printers, etc.
  6. Assist in technology preparation for state assessments.
  7. Ability to lift 20 lbs and stay on feet for extended periods of time during state assessments.
  8. Assist in developing "how to" documents to aid staff & technology department.
  9. Supporting Mac OS, Macbooks, iMacs, iPads, MS Office, and Google Apps for Education.
  10. Collaborates with all members of the Technology Information department.
  11. Coordinate and maintain district computer inventory and maintenance/repair records.
  12. Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as Service ticket prioritization, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and collaborating with staff and administrators.
  13. Configure/Troubleshoots and resolves computer hardware/software problems
  14. Perform any hardware or software upgrades.
  15. Remote troubleshoot issues relating to hardware and software (typically Mac OS, Apple, Google for Education, Microsoft Office, etc.).
  16. Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests.
  17. Research issues and resolves technical problems.
  18. Complete technical and special projects as assigned.
  19. Any other tasks as required by the Chief Technology Officer.
