Job Title: Electronic Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance

Summary: The employee is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of equipment, inclusive of manufacturing equipment, warehouse equipment, shop and plant equipment.

Responsibilities: The responsibilities shown below lists the major tasks, obligations, duties, and responsibilities typically assigned to the employee:

  • Troubleshoots to diagnose problems; repairs and performs routine pm on equipment
  • Assists in maintaining a clean work environment
  • Working knowledge of PLC's
  • Maintains and updates all process documentation
  • Supports as necessary with equipment modifications for process changes, new models and expansion needs
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures strictly
  • Undertakes actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc. on equipment
  • Performs accurate documentation
  • Troubleshoots and repairs various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment systems which often involves the isolation of the malfunctioning parts
  • Assists as necessary with the identification and sourcing of required parts, supplies, and services
  • Safely operates equipment necessary to perform tasks, adhering to safety standards
  • Ensures that equipment is in a safe and working condition and utilizes the Lock-Out Tag-Out program
  • Ensures prompt and regular attendance
  • Ensures the application of Policies and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities
Qualifications: The qualifications shown below are important qualities, including skills, abilities, knowledge and experience necessary for the employee to be considered successful in their position.
  • Must possess Vo-tech or electrical education paperwork
  • Communication skills: Employee is required to have strong oral and written communication skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Strong oral and written communication skills are also necessary for reporting and correspondence.
  • Interpersonal skills: Employee is required to have strong interpersonal skills to clearly communicate and build relationships with other employees, supervisors, managers, customers and non-company concerns.
  • Ability, knowledge and experience: Employee is expected to be safely proficient at their tasks.
  • Physical Requirements: The employee's work may entail extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, working at elevated levels and lifting up to 50 lbs. (occasionally more) etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Layout, dismantle, install, maintain, repair, and test electrical devices, fixtures, control equipment, meters, instruments, and wiring throughout the facility.
  • Work with PLC logic/programs
  • Make new installations of electrical/electronic equipment throughout the plant.
  • Adjust, calibrate, troubleshoot, analyze, and repair electrical/electronic equipment as required.
  • Adjust and repair frequency drive motor controllers as well as DC motors
Shift times: 7 am to 3 pm, 3 pm to 11 pm, 11 pm to 7 am
  • Rotating shifts
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of AC and DC motor controls is essential.
  • Ability to troubleshoot all phases of electrical circuitry from building wiring to production operating
  • equipment, with or without schematics.
  • Work with PLC logic/programs
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of plant industrial experience.
  • HS/GED required
  • VoTech certification required
