What you can expect:

As a CAD Technician I, you will utilize the company values in all phases of your work. Doing a variety of basic technical engineering work involving office support of engineering projects. You will be working with CAD related software to support an experienced team of project managers, engineers, and other technicians. This is a broad classification with individual positions assigned to specific functional areas; duties and assignments may overlap divisions depending on the operational needs and staffing levels.

How you will make an impact:

You shall perform the full range of duties as assigned under general supervision in a timely fashion, and show competency in the following areas:
  1. CAD Drafting:
  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroStation) to create detailed and precise drawings based on engineering designs and specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to established CAD standards and guidelines.


2.Technical Documentation:
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and design files.
  • Organize drawings to facilitate efficient retrieval and use.
3.Collaboration with Engineering Team:
  • Work closely with engineers and other team members to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Incorporate feedback from engineers into CAD drawings and make necessary revisions.
4.Project Support:
  • Support engineering projects by providing timely and accurate CAD support.
  • Aid in the preparation of materials for project presentations and meetings.
5. Learning and Development:
  • Participate in training programs to enhance CAD skills and knowledge.

Education:Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED, associate degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Knowledge of Civil Engineering a plus.
  • Previous internship or work experience in CAD drafting or related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and terminology.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be able to take direction, collaborate with other team members, have good interpersonal skills, and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong computer background as well as mathematical skills.
  • Organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Sense of urgency to complete a project.
