Job Summary:

Our Payroll Specialist will work with a team to process multi-state full cycle payroll processing for 500 weekly employees plus 400 biweekly employees and completed Certified Payroll Reports in a variety of platforms (federal form, DIR, LCPtracker, etc.) and handles payroll related issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Managers and Supervisors at multiple locations and entities to deliver excellent customer service related to the entire payroll process, answering/resolving any payroll issues
  • Handle high volume payroll for over 500 employees (and steadily growing) process and file quarterly payroll taxes for multiple state
  • Screens employee's hours worked for calculating or coding errors
  • Assist in managing the quarterly and annual tax filing processes including printing and filing of quarterly and annual tax forms and W-2 forms
  • Coordinates with timekeepers, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data, accurately entering any payroll information not contained within batches
  • Generate and distribute payroll and management reports
  • Audit payroll transactions to ensure accuracy of all wage/tax, management reports and general ledger interface
  • Continually upgrade knowledge and skill base related to the systems, processes, and requirements to maintain capabilities at the highest possible level
  • Conduct payroll compliance checks and keep current with Federal and State tax changes as they occur, ensuring employees are paid accurately and per Federal and State regulations
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree with 2 years' experience while using a full-service payroll processing system (Paycom, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Multi-state payroll processing experience required
  • High level of integrity

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational planning and time management skills
  • Ability to protect confidential information
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced and flexible environment

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Use of Adobe Acrobat
  • Previous use of human resources information system(s)
  • Working knowledge of MS office software - MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Office
  • Advanced MS Excel skills to include VLookup and pivot tables
  • Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll Reporting experience
