Position Summary: Responsible for the overall completion of the data processing phase of specific field survey projects. U.S. Residency Required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Performs topographic plotting, terrain modeling, plat preparation, note reduction and design file generation

Perform office survey activities in accordance with Minimum Standards of Practice for Surveying

Perform property owner and utility records research

Operate and supervise the use of all survey equipment including electronic data collectors, levels, electronic total station, GPS and survey vehicles.

Performs office computations necessary for the completion of task assignments including QA/QC.

Tracks job progress

Completes data collector maintenance

Coordinates information for stakeout services

Analyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy

Prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records and other survey reports

Communicates the daily progress of the crew towards the project goals and/or accomplishments with the office staff

Required SkillsRequired Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

Skills in coordinate geometry and trigonometry

Extensive knowledge in field surveying techniques, including data collection, traverse adjustments, GPS surveys, and construction stakeouts.

Familiarity with third party software for data reduction and drafting including AutoCAD or Carlson preferred and MicroStation.

Familiarity with Subsurface Utility Designation and/or Test Holes

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 85% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Field work is required 15% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
