**Description**

Harrison Meadows Country Club (HMCC) is a semi-private facility open to Harrison residents. The golf club was purchased by the town of Harrison in 2021. The goal is to foster camaraderie and create a fun, family oriented environment. The club has 18 holes, large practice facility with teaching area, pool and tennis facilities.

We are seeking a motivated candidate to help with club set up and opening. The candidate will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to members and guests.

**Position Purpose:**

This position is to effectively assist all daily operations of the retail and merchandising portion of the Golf Shop and to assist in the up selling of merchandise to groups, tournaments, members, and the local community.

Assist the Director of Golf with the planning and purchasing of golf apparel and accessories. Assist with the entire merchandising operation including buying, receiving, special orders, visual displays, trunk shows, selling and liquidating of merchandise. We are striving to be a Top 100 Golf Shop.

**General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Organize and supervise retail activities of the Golf Shop.

* Assist guests/players in the sale of merchandise.

* Maintain the merchandise in the Golf Shop. Keep shelves stocked and neat. Move merchandise as needed and assists with rotation of shop displays.

* Maintain inventory control, tagging, visual displays and re-orders of stock items.

* Assist Director of Golf with inventory and ordering procedures and retail needs.

* Evaluate and survey the market to incorporate new ideas and plans for retail sales.

* Strategize and plan the achievement of organizational goals and objectives for merchandising.

* Develop and implement marketing and other promotional plans for the Golf Shop.

* Provide service in any and every way. Go the extra mile to provide the highest quality standard of service our guests expect.

* Assist Director of Golf with annual merchandise budgeting.

* Assist tournament and group coordinator with event sales and event prizes.

* Monitor and explain variances on monthly reports as to actual vs. budget in regards to

cost of goods sold, sales and discounts.

* Trains other staff members on proper procedures for receiving items into inventory, visual displays and proper ways to greet and help customers and guest.

* Work with local businesses to provide Golf merchandise to their guests.

* Consistently promote golf shop on social media and reach out to members and others to promote our merchandise.

* Manage online golf shop

* Continually monitor, implement and adhere to all company goals, policies, procedures and controls.

* Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Golf.

**Experience / Education / Certification Requirements**

* Bachelors degree in retailing, sales or other related field of study or equivalent experience.

* Must be approachable and have strong organizational and planning skills

* Must have good computer skills, Word, Excel, etc.

* Must have excellent telephone skills and customer relation / communication skills.

* Must have a good understanding of golfing merchandise and equipment.

* Must have good accurate math skills.

* Must have good understanding of budgets and exceeding department financial expectations.

**Physical Requirements**

* Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist height.

* Frequent bending, turning, and kneeling.

* Must be able to stand for extended periods.

* Repetitive motion required including computer entry.
