To help us continue to grow our offerings, we are currently seeking a Financial Controller to join our team. The Controller will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization, providing leadership and expertise in financial reporting, ensuring milestones and deliverables are completed on time, within budget. You will manage a team of up to 5 people, some of whom may be located at an alternative site and you will collaborate multiple internal departments including Finance, Operations, Sales, and Senior Leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the timely preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting for distribution to senior management, ensuring accuracy and integrity of reporting.
  • Performs financial reviews, analysis and assists in managing and coordinating multiple general ledgers, journal entries and facilitate month end close process.
  • Provides of Forecasts, Budgets and Strategic Plans.
  • Completes yearly and half-yearly stat packs and budget reporting within the predetermined deadlines.
  • Supervises and mentors finance staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and performance.
  • Establishes and maintains internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting.
  • Monitors compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Conducts analysis of product costs, manufacturing costs, and overhead expenses. Identifies cost drivers and variances.
  • Maintains and improves cost accounting systems and methodologies.
  • Facilitates timely resolution of escalated issues, risks, and decisions for the company.
  • Supports pricing decisions by providing cost analysis and profitability insights.
  • Analyzes financial data to identify and report undesirable trends; potential business opportunities and makes recommendations for management to improve business performance and profitability.
  • Oversees the tax return and distribution process, including sales & use taxes, 1099 s. Works with internal and external tax consultants to ensure accurate and timely completion around local, state and federal government requirements.
  • Proactively identifies and addresses compliance risks, implements Quality and Compliance controls as appropriate, and maintains accurate records to meet regulatory requirements and uphold our commitment to ethical business practices.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in in Finance or Accounting or equivalent is preferred. CPA / ACA / MBA qualified
  • Minimum 6+ years experience in a similar finance position with increasing responsibilities; prior experience working in a manufacturing business is preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment; established and strong team management skills.
  • Business acumen - ability to understand the business environment and anticipate what the business needs and how to achieve it.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail along with proven analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and team focused. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both written and verbal
  • Organized with time management discipline.
  • Experience using integrated ERP & CRM systems (Epicor, Infor, Avante, Syspro, Quickbooks, SalesForce or similar).
  • Experience in Power BI is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to set priorities, investigate discrepancies and recommend solutions.
  • Microsoft Office proficient (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc).
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and / or IFRS.
  • Team player who will actively contribute to the finance team in order to complete tasks, meet goals and manage projects.
