Traveling Superintendent (Agriculture/Industrial/Commercial)

Tiello has partnered with a Leading Industrial and Agricultural General Contractor in Iowa on their search for a Traveling Superintendent to oversee a portfolio of Tilt-Up Industrial projects throughout the Midwest Region.


The Traveling Superintendent will be the company representative and will serve as the company's point of contact both with the client and with the construction team when required. You will engage in and influence the safety culture and have the authority to make decisions on the General Contractor's behalf about such items as cost and schedule.


Project Types: Agriculture, Cold Storage, Poultry, Food Professing, Tilt-Up, Design Build, Light Industrial, Warehouse, & Distribution Centers, Concrete


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate cost-effective subcontract and material purchases
  • Set up and implement job procedures and techniques to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery
  • Oversee and manage the project schedules and budgets
  • Oversee, Develop, and Maintain a good relationship with Owner, Architect, and Subcontractors
  • Provide the client with value-engineered solutions when applicable
  • Work with the Superintendent to develop safety plans and implement safety procedures
  • Manage project deliverables
  • Oversee and mentor the project staff to foster a positive team setting

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Construction experience in the light industrial space
  • Strong communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and design consultants.
  • BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Microsoft Projects, Excel, Word, and Procore preferred.
