The Environmental Specialist ensures compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards. This position maintains a comprehensive understanding of the permits and programs administered by the EPA.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Advanced degree in Environmental Engineering or a science/technical related discipline.
  • 5 years of direct work experience in an environmental role working for a manufacturing organization to include direct knowledge and work experience with comprehensive chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Thorough understanding of EPA regulations
  • Professional certifications, experience with ISO and other industry related standards and Risk Management Plan (RMP) is desirable.



Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and execution of environmental programs and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position will drive continued growth of the Environmental Management System (EMS).



Responsibilities:

  • Submitting and managing data that is required for chemical reporting including Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) rule under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), EPCRA Tier I/II Reporting, and Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) Sara 311-313.
  • Manages site compliance with the US EPA TSCA Chemical Substance Inventory.
  • Lead and execute a comprehensive approach to addressing Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) for compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Knowledge and application of National Volatile Organic Compound Emission Standards for Consumer and Commercial Products.
  • Responsible for chemical substance inventory and environmental data sheets.
  • Oversee NPDES compliance, implement SWPPP and SPCC at the Cincinnati Plant.
  • Develops and executes all regulatory required training in line with state and federal guidelines.
