I am partnering with a well-funded circular commerce startup poised to transform how retail brands approach sustainability and the environment, redefining the consumer shopping experience. Backed by leading VCs on the West Coast, they are creating a seamless resale market experience and unlocking new growth & revenue streams for brands and retailers.
The VP of Finance will lead all financial operations, provide strategic financial guidance, and ensure financial practices align with company goals. You will work closely with the cofounding team and executive leadership to define financial strategies, support the sales team in a high-velocity environment, and manage financial planning, risk management, and investment strategies.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the cofounding team and executive leadership to define and implement financial strategies.
- Partner with the VP of Sales/Growth to provide financial support within a high-velocity sales environment.
- Create P&L for full lifecycle sales processes and translate sales pipeline data from HubSpot to forecast probabilities.
- Lead all financial operations, providing strategic guidance and ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Support company growth and scaling through financial planning, risk management, and investment strategies.
- Manage monthly close-out processes in QuickBooks, and oversee accounts payable and receivable.
- Oversee budgets, forecasting, cash management, financial modeling, and accounting.
- Work closely with an outsourced tax and accounting team.
- Provide financial support for future fundraising rounds.
- Prepare investor reports and present to the board in quarterly meetings.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks and improve financial operational efficiency.
Skills / Experience Needed:
- 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with significant experience in building detailed financial models.
- 5+ years of team leadership/management experience.
- Proven success in financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting within high-growth startup companies.
- Experience in the startup eCommerce, B2B, SaaS, or direct-to-consumer space.
- Confidence in working with key stakeholders and executives across enterprise retail, eCommerce, and logistics partners.
- Previous experience providing financial support to sales teams within a high-velocity SaaS/B2B sales environment.
- Startup experience through multiple phases of growth; from Seed or Series A and beyond
- Experience assisting in fundraising rounds and investor relations.
- Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, Docs, HubSpot, etc.
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master s degree and CPA are a plus).
