Job Overview

The Lead Mechanical Assembler builds gamma detection devices and related accessories per released specifications and manufacturing work orders and prepares finished assemblies for shipment. The Lead Electronics Assembler is responsible for relevant training and will participate in ongoing process development. The Lead Electronics Assembler will assign production tasks to other assemblers, maintain work cell materials and equipment consistent with production objectives.

Responsibilities and Duties

Using the production plan, schedule assembly work for assemblers to meet delivery objectives.

Assist other assemblers with new product assembly training.

Organize the purchase of non-inventory, shop floor supplies.

Assemble product per released specifications and specified on work orders, using predetermined methods and tools.

Complete documentation of assemblies.

Perform and document results or certain functional or safety tests.

Assist with Verification and Validation work that may occur from time to time related to product changes.

Participate in related process development and documentation with team members in other departments.

Assist with certain inventory control tasks and documentation.

Maintain a neat, organized assembly work area.

Actively support compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures.

Assist personnel from other departments with product non-conformance root cause investigations.

Qualifications

Excellent low voltage electro-mechanical assembly aptitude.

Proficiency using hand tools.

Understanding of low voltage electrical component installation.

Writing skills necessary to document work product and test results.

Proficiency in hand soldering.

Organizational skill necessary to prioritize the work of several assemblers based on production objectives, assembler knowledge and material constraints.

Education & Experience

High School, Technical Certification, Associates Degree in relevant field or,

2 Years of similar electro mechanical assembly.

Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing or other highly regulated industry (preferred).

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Light electromechanical assembly.

Frequent standing and walking.

Frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs

Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
