Description

The Business Development & Marketing Director works closely with the Managing Partner, COOCFO, and Practice Group Leaders to provide strategic support across the firm's practices.

Qualifications

  • Works with practice groups and individual attorneys to develop and implement business development plans
  • Develops annual firm business development plan for review and approval by Managing Partner and Executive Committee
  • 3 - 7 years of business development, sales strategy or marketing experience within a professional services firm or law firm
  • Superior writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Exhibit sound judgment, strong diligence, effective critical thinking skills, and an ability to use discretion and independent judgment to make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and other professionals
  • Relevant work experience in a position or positions requiring strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple competing priorities and personalities
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Demonstrated business intelligence research skills
  • Tech savvy- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced LinkedIn, social media, and market comprehension skill set.
Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Assist with competitive intelligence research to support business development initiatives
  • Assist with firm cross-selling initiatives
  • Track opportunities for new client acquisition
  • Assist with external and client-facing communications including blogs, alerts, newsletters, articles, podcasts, social media posts, and general content
  • Assists in the deployment of programs and events, hosted, or sponsored by the firm such as webinars, seminars, appearances, and other events including the development of and production of marketing materials and on-site logistics
  • Assists with responses to marketing surveys, directories, and nominations
  • Prepare pitch collateral materials and packets
  • Update and maintain marketing distribution lists
  • Plan strategic networking events for attorneys and clients/prospects
  • Assist with drafting proposals, RFP, and RFI requests focusing on attaining institutional clients
  • Assist in the development of firm wide attorney business development training and campaigns
  • Assist attorneys in identifying applicable reputation enhancing opportunities to write, speak, and network in their respective practice and industry sectors
