Craftbent Hospitality is a local restaurant group seeking a highly motivated candidate with a developed culinary background and a strong work ethic to join our management team.

This role requires an experienced chef with excellent communication & organizational skills that leads by example. Must be consistent, timely, and dependable. Looking for a candidate capable of working with other BOH staff to ensure that the kitchen runs effectively. We are looking for creativity, consistency, and culinary expertise with the ability to ensure food quality and presentation as a means to drive sales. This role will be in charge of coordinating and supervising the kitchen staff as directed by the Executive Chef and operating according to food safety standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with hiring , training and scheduling of all cooks
  • Perform quality control on food product and plates leaving the kitchen
  • Communicate instructions clearly to staff
  • Oversee food preparation, checking that all kitchen staff are performing their duties
  • Respect established processes & procedures
  • Provide a positive working environment
  • Tracking kitchen finances to identify areas of potential waste
  • Monitor equipment quality
  • Order inventory to keep up with demand
  • Streamlining the kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times
  • Administration of food pricing and cost control
  • Assist with menu development as necessary
  • Effectively supervise a team of cooks
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and working environment
  • The ability to communicate in a fast-moving atmosphere
  • Consistent food quality, regardless of flow
  • Set cleaning standards for the kitchen and verify that staff is maintaining sanitation levels
  • Provide coaching and feedback to staff
  • Work with HR to implement onboarding processes, disciplinary action and/or termination as applicable
  • Work with FOH Management to maintain a cohesive team
  • Report to and maintain communication with Executive Chef and owners
  • Administrative tasks as it pertains to the role

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • At least 2 years experience in managerial or a leadership role
  • Strong and effective team leadership
  • Capable of taking direction
  • Adequately prepare a variety of dishes
  • The ability to work under extreme pressure and skillfully multitask
  • Efficient time management
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer service oriented
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

*Compensation: $26 - $29.40 per hour + tips DOE
