The Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program at Leidos currently has an opening for a Software Tester to support the development of our Salesforce application. The position will be a remote/telework role, with the potential for occasional travel as needed. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in creating tools and dashboards to support a U.S. Navy program.Primary ResponsibilitiesTest Planning and Strategy: Develop test plans, strategies, and test cases based on project requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features and bug fixes do not introduce unintended side effects or break existing functionality.Test Execution and Reporting: Execute manual and automated tests, record test results, and generate test reports to communicate findings to stakeholders and drive decision-making.Defect Management: Identify, report, and prioritize software defects identified during testing using issue tracking systems, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and validation of fixes.Quality Assurance Processes: Contribute to the improvement of quality assurance processes, methodologies, and tools, with a focus on increasing efficiency, effectiveness, and test coverage.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document test cases, procedures, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team through documentation, training sessions, and presentations.Conduct meticulous quality assurance (QA) checks of each new release for usability.Develop suitable acceptance criteria for development tasks to support testing.Maintain the program's development tracking tools (including Jira) and data dictionary as needed.Basic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Analytics, Data Science, Software Engineering or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree in other academic disciplines.4-8 years of prior relevant experience.Experience with technical writing, specifically test scripts.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.Understanding of Agile software development processes.Ability to research solutions, solve problems, and instruct users on best practices for supported tools.Effective communicator and organizer.Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in a relevant field with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.Knowledge of how to use Jira.Experience with Automated Testing: Design, develop, and execute automated tests to validate software functionality, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests.Prior experience in a business systems analyst role supporting Department of Defense programs.DescriptionThe Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program at Leidos currently has an opening for a Software Tester to support the development of our Salesforce application.
