The position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to clerically support Patient Accounting and Admissions. The Patient Access Representative is responsible for carrying out all policies and procedures associated with the registration insurance verification and documentation of patients presenting to Admissions completing functions necessary to patient admission to unit as well as the clerical support functions of registration. Effective use of department computer systems to carry out daily work activities. Assists Manager with special projects. Ensures adherence to established policies and procedures. Assists in the organization of and review of activities which support patient care delivery as it relates to patient inquiries registration insurance verification and documentation of patient demographic information. Must be able to work under changing conditions and with some interruptions. May be required to work in other areas according to the department and facility needs. The Patient Access Representative works under the supervision of the Manager of Admissions.

Education: High School diploma or GED required.

Experience: 2 years medical clerical experience preferred.

Certification: Current BLS and First Aid are required within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
