Summary:

The purpose of this class within the organization is to perform general maintenance at an assigned building, facility or other location.

This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

Essential Duties: Include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Strives to be efficient and effective at balancing and meeting the common needs and reasonable expectations of core constitutes.

Contributes towards the department's mission by continuously striving to meet expectations, strategic goals and objectives.

Performs general maintenance and repairs at recreational centers, facilities, playgrounds and parks on a daily basis as needed.

Completes job tasks including but not limited to pool maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, floor tile installation, lighting repair, roof repair, pouring concrete, painting, snow removal, building construction, dragging ball fields, etc.

Assists in setting up playground equipment; performs plumbing repairs; repairs heating and cooling units.

Unlocks buildings; checks the flags; delivers newspapers; manages the laundry and laundry room; checks supplies and replenishes when needed.

Performs light cleaning such as emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, stocking kitchen supplies, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, etc.

Operates heavy equipment.

Performs related work as assigned.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience performing similar duties desired

License(s)/Certification(s): Must possess and maintain valid Driver's License.
