Job Details

Performs customer services functions in line with established policies and procedures while providing a variety of service functions including processing savings and checking accounts, cashing checks, selling treasures checks, issuing traveler's checks, and accepting loan payments.This position also processes mail and drop box deposits and is responsible for balancing each day's transactions and verifying cash totals.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Represents the bank to the customer in a courteous, professional manner while providing prompt, efficient, and accurate service in processing transactions. Performs all teller-related functions following department guidelines.
  • Receives and processes all bank-by-mail deposits, drop box deposits, bulk cash deposits, night drop deposits, currency and coin orders, and excess currency and coin deposits for the Federal Reserve Bank.
  • Receives payments for commercial loans and receives and process all FICA tax deposits.
  • Gathers necessary data for account analysis, completing currency transaction reports, completing monetary instrument logs, mailing receipts and statements, ordering supplies and preparing vaults for opening and closing and verifying through logbook.
  • Balances all transactions such as treasurer's checks and cash drawers at the end of the day.
  • Scans all work through the branch capture device and forwards work to the operations department.Ensures that batches are orderly and secure for transporting.Performs regular maintenance on equipment.
  • Orders treasurer's checks for the facility.
  • Applies account holds on customer accounts as required by federal banking law.
  • Records all transactions for monthly management report.
  • Addresses customer inquiries and resolves problems.
  • Ensures that time locks are properly set, and alarms are tested monthly.
  • Other duties as assigned.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must be able to type 30 WPM and have a good aptitude for figures.
  • Proficiency with ten key calculator and personal computer.
  • Must be mature, dependable, well-groomed, and customer-service oriented.


MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year cash handling experience.
