America's National Parks, a not-for-profit partner of the National Park Service, is seeking a Assistant Store Manager with a strong work ethic to support our retail operations at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. The selected Assistant Store Manager must be able to work weekends and holidays.

We're looking for someone who is versatile, dedicated and has a desire to learn and grow with America's National Parks.

The Assistant Store Manager will be a key member of the America's National Parks team and will support the Store Manager in tactically managing operations at assigned store(s) within specific park location(s). The position regularly supervises store personnel and assists with the management of all retail business functions. Helps maintain payroll, supplies, travel, and other expenses to budget. Reviews store sales performance with Store Manager on a regular basis and recommends growth opportunities. The Assistant Store Manager will exhibit exceptional customer service and selling skills to promote America's National Parks mission and motivate others to follow a shared plan and drive results.

This position serves as an ambassador for America's National Parks and the parks and will promote America's National Parks mission. America's National Parks is the educational branch of Eastern National, providing quality educational experiences to national park visitors through our park stores, interpretive services, and custom publications. America's National Parks employees will educate visitors about America's National Parks partnership with the National Park Service.

Experience, Abilities and Knowledge

  1. Minimum of two years' experience in retail management and/or four years' retail experience.
  2. Computer proficiency required with applied understanding of Microsoft Office software.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team through shared mission and goals.
  4. Thrives in a multi-tasking, high energy environment with shifting priorities.


  1. Results driven: able to achieve sales and profitability goals.
  2. Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 15lbs to a shelf height of 5 feet; may be exposed to prolonged standing to include bending, squatting and reaching.
  3. Valid driver's license and access to a privately-owned vehicle.
  4. Ability to travel using multiple modes of transportation (air, train, car, etc.) as needed.


Education Requirements:

High School degree or equivalent. AA/AS preferred.

Must be able to pass a Military background check.
