We are seeking a dynamic Regulatory & Compliance Specialist with a strong legal background and expertise in gaming and cannabis regulations to join our team. As a key member of our regulatory compliance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our company's adherence to rapidly evolving industry regulations across different territories.
About the job:
Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of and interpret gaming and cannabis regulations at the local, state/provincial, and federal levels, ensuring our company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and develop strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
- Training and Education: Provide training and educational programs to internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance matters, ensuring a thorough understanding of obligations and responsibilities.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Establish monitoring systems to track compliance activities and prepare regular reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.
- Advisory Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to internal teams, providing guidance and interpretation on complex regulatory issues and compliance matters.
- Industry Analysis: Continuously monitor industry trends, developments, and regulatory changes, providing strategic insights and recommendations to support business growth plans.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, operations, finance, and risk management, to ensure alignment on compliance initiatives and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in the gaming and/or cannabis industry.
- Strong understanding of gaming and cannabis regulations at local, state/provincial, and federal levels.
- Proven track record of adapting to rapid industry changes and growth plans in a high-growth environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess and mitigate compliance risks effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in policy development, training, and education on compliance matters.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
