Our client, a leader in the mineral manufacturing field, is looking for a Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join their team.
Salary: $75k-$110k/yr
Role Overview: The Senior HSE Specialist will partner with the company's plants, terminals, and regional offices to manage and support health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs in the Western North America (WNA) region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage HSE programs to maintain the company's internal standards and ensure sustainability.
- Lead/support environmental permitting for projects.
- Provide compliance training and support, and conduct root cause analysis for HSE incidents.
- Participate in internal HSE audits and influence site HSE representatives.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance reporting to regulatory agencies.
- Promote HSE growth and alignment within plants, facilitating regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate on improvement projects for a world-class HSE function and support decarbonization efforts.
Qualifications:
- Science/Engineering related bachelor s degree required, with a degree in Health, Safety or Environmental emphasis preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years experience managing environmental, health and safety requirements for an industrial operation.
- Experience in HSE roles, preferably in industrial settings.
- Strong understanding of environmental permitting and compliance.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
