Stable Prestigious Community Bank located in Queens, NYC, is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their team!
Successful candidate will support the CFO and Controller in adhering to the responsibilities of the Accounting Department.
- Manages general ledger activity- post batches, approves GL tickets
- Manage correspondent bank account balances and reviews daily cash position report
- Assists Controller in monthly closing process; prepares accruals
- Prepare & review various daily and monthly general ledger account reconciliations
- Prepare & review daily wires and related general ledger transactions
- Accounting for investment portfolio, including reconciliations
- Maintain and perform Bank lease accounting functions
- Fund attorney disbursement accounts for loan closings
- Reviews daily ACH and in clearing reconciliations
- Supervise Accounts Payable/Fixed Assets/Prepaid functions
- Prepare & review daily & monthly deposit reports, including CD maturity report
- Log & maintain Bank reconciliation inventory
- Performs monthly analyses of G & A expenses and balance sheet, assists in preparation of financial reports to Board of Trustees, prepares monthly management reports
- Assist in preparation of quarterly Call Report and ALCO package and annual budget
- Prepare various regulatory reports including Insider Payments, CRE Concentration, Reg F
- Responsible for quarterly reporting of sales and use tax
- Submit semi-weekly 945 tax withholdings and file annually
- Prepare & submit annual 1099 filing
- Processes MoneyGram activity for tellers checks, official checks
- Manage Accounting staff

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5-7 plus years of related experience in Accounting field, preferably Community/Savings/Mortgage Banking
Microsoft Office, Excel and Fiserv a plus
Multi task and highly organized
SALARY:
Base target $120,000 BASE, plus BONUS and comprehensive benefits
