**Job Description**

The Stewardship Operations Assistant reports to the Director of Stewardship & Donor Engagement and is responsible for the accuracy and utility of stewardship data and reports that support and inform the work of the Stewardship & Donor Engagement team, as well as providing operational support for the team's production of stewardship reports. The position is multi-faceted, requiring the ability to move easily from one task to another in a fast-paced office environment with time-sensitive projects. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintain and manipulate donor stewardship information in the University Advancement constituent relationship database; maintain a thorough working knowledge of Boston College stewardship processes and the database to serve as a resource for information on stewardship activity through the production of reports and correspondence; and support the Director of Stewardship & Donor Engagement with multiple diverse tasks.

The Stewardship Operations Assistant provides support for the director of stewardship and donor engagement but also for core functions of the stewardship team carried out by other team members. The assistant collaborates with stewardship team members and also with the Advancement Information Systems team to ensure accuracy of gift purpose, donor names and other critical information.

The position works closely with the director of stewardship to maintain relevant information on the State of the Boston College endowment that is conveyed to donors in a timely manner including assisting on the financial endowment reports for established funds. The operations assistant also maintains procedural and protocol related documents for the Stewardship & Donor Engagement team and will assist with reconciling the Stewardship & Donor Engagement budget, including purchase card statements and receipts, and ordering supplies.

This position will also work to administer the gift agreement creation process and serves as the initial point of contact to successfully process new gift agreements, administrative documents, memoranda of understanding, and other documents supporting new gifts to the University ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable laws and regulations. Provides customer service-oriented guidance and counsel in regard to gift agreement writing to create clear and concise gift agreements that thoughtfully and strategically balance the donor's wishes with the University's needs and which comply with federal, state and University agreement for administration of central gifts. Researches best practices, peer institutions, market/economic conditions and government rules and regulations and recommends changes and enhancements to improve administrative effectiveness, services and/or resources.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $41,100 to $51,400; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

**Requirements**

Requires a high school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred, and a minimum of one to three years increasingly responsible, administrative and database experience; strong interpersonal and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy; a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and specialized experience working with data and databases; initial and ongoing database training is required; exceptional proofreading, and an ability to handle multiple tasks and work well within deadlines. Also, requires good judgment, discretion with confidential materials and a customer service orientation. Maintaining confidentiality of donor and student information is a necessity and is required. Familiarity with Boston College systems and/or an understanding of the fundraising process is desired but not required.
