Job Summary: The CAD Drafter, also known as an Engineering Design Technician, will focus on design support for projects, bid packages, and drawing control spanning multiple engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical (DCS), and Plumbing/piping.


Job Duties:

  • Meet with project teams and outside engineering firms to gather requirements.
  • Produce CAD designs and assist with overall drawing coordination on assigned projects.
  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) Revit software and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Autodesk AutoCAD tools daily.
  • Develop designs, bid packages, construction, and as-built drawing documentation across disciplines.
  • Receive, review, and adjust as-built AutoCAD/Revit design data to align with CAD standards.
  • Check design data into the drawing management system.
  • Create or modify drawings to support validation systems for various divisions.
  • Conduct small- to large-size assigned projects within an engineering specialty.
  • Manage multiple, often concurrent assignments and meet deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-year degree or equivalent work experience desired.
  • 2+ years of operational experience in an engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated competency in AutoDesk AutoCAD and AutoDesk Revit.
  • Technical background in design/drafting in an engineering discipline highly desired.
  • AutoDesk AutoCAD or Revit certification highly desired.
  • Good skills in MS Office, understanding and coordinating drawing sets, and reviewing and adjusting CAD/BIM models.
  • Experience developing process flow diagrams, one-line drawing updates for various MEPs, and familiarity with facility process piping (Compressed Air, Nitrogen, water systems, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with Fire Protection Systems is a plus.
