SUMMARY: Provides administrative support for church operations that may include human resources, finance, and support for ministries. The position requires excellent communication skills in dealing with staff, church members and other officials.Must be able to prepare and draft correspondence for approval and signature.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain confidentiality of all information received and processed in the Church Office.

Perform duties as a receptionist by receiving and directing calls and visitors to the appropriate staff.

Receive and distribute incoming mail to appropriate church staff, organizations, auxiliaries and ministerial staff.

Provide logistical support and planning as required for conferences and meetings held by the church. Assist in preparing required materials for meetings,

Draft and coordinate correspondence for internal and external distribution for church ministries (e.g. letters, flyers, programs, brochures, invitations and expressions on behalf of the church.)

Orders office supplies to maintain sufficient inventory to support administrative requirements.

Ensure office equipment is operational and needed repairs are ordered in a timely manner from designated vendors.

Coordinates and processes Room and Logistical Service Requests with Building Maintenance Staff and maintain the daily Room Assignment Calendars.

Maintain Baptism Roster; prepare Baptism Certificates; prepare funeral announcements; order flowers.

** This is not an exhaustive list and other administrative duties/responsibilities may be determined for continuity of church operations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Two-year college level degree in office administration or business and/or three to five years of practical experience in office administration.
  • Must have excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must have excellent knowledge of administrative concepts and practices sufficient to work independently in an office environment when required.
  • Able to learn church organizational structure and administration as they relate to clerical and administrative functions of the church.
  • Must be extremely courteous and able to exercise tact and diplomacy in receiving and communicating with vendors, church members, and the community served by the church.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $20.00 - $24.00 Per Hour
