Maintenance Manager
Location: Relocation to the Nashville, TN area is required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Directs and completes all emergency repairs of plant equipment in entire plant.
- Directs and completes all preventative maintenance work orders in entire plant.
- Manages personnel in terms of evaluation, training, sometimes may coordinate outside training and communication.
- Maintains all work areas in a safe and orderly fashion according to plant standards.
- Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the manager.
- Reviews work orders to determine work priorities and assign them to subordinates accordingly.
- Schedules with production personnel the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure machines and equipment are properly running.
- Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to repair or upgrade machinery.
- Assigns preventative maintenance work orders to personnel based on priority and skill level of associates.
- Audits completed work orders to ensure that work is done properly, and equipment is in safe and proper running order.
- Can develop and implement improvements for specific maintenance processes, maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance instructions and systems.
- Maintains the proper discipline of subordinates and identify and follow up with employees on cases of poor work performance.
- Evaluate the adequacy of the training programs and make the required improvements to fulfill training needs and requirements.
- Attends daily first and second shift communication meetings with subordinates to discuss safety, reoccurring equipment problems, and to delegate assignments.
- Ensures that maintenance personnel return tools, parts, and other equipment to the proper storage place.
- Conducts audits to ensure that maintenance personnel complete proper 5S activity in their areas of responsibility.
- Complies with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication; Bloodborne Pathogens; Lockout Tagout; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics.
- When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job.
