General Description

This position manages, organizes, and directs the activities in weaving, mending, seaming, needling, shipping, and finishing. Implements timely and effective actions to assure that the areas under his responsibility meet or exceed their key measures as required in order to meet Company objectives. Has full responsibility for process of all plant fabrics. Provides leadership for continuous improvement process and maintains ongoing ISO 9001 compliance in all areas of responsibility. Directly supervises exempt and indirectly supervises hourly employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Achieves production and quality levels outlined in the manufacturing plan which meets sales and inventory needs
  • Prepares operating budgets and capital plans for production units
  • Coordinates with Process and Procurement departments to ensure current production and backlog forecasts are supported with raw materials
  • Develops productivity plans to generate continuous improvements
  • Controls manufacturing period and variable costs
  • Participates in intercompany meetings to assure cooperation and coordination with other facilities concerning mutual production problems
  • Motivates the workforce to achieve production and quality levels within cost guidelines
  • Recruits and develops a trained workforce
  • Evaluates and recommends training courses for his personnel
  • Serves as a participant on the company job evaluation team
  • Determines and recommends the planning structures, the workforce, remuneration, hiring and dismissals, transfer, and promotion of employees under his jurisdiction
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Education:
  • Experience: Five to eight years management experience in textile operation
  • Languages: English
  • Knowledge of weaving, finishing, mending, seaming, needling, planning and organizational skills, and sound human relations skills is desireable.
