Project Engineer - Planning & Launch Management


Job Details

Job Location: Auburn Hills, MI (Onsite)
Key Responsibilities:
Meet vehicle launch timelines & deliverables and ensure the transition to quality volume production.
Responsible for part and assembly compliance and geometrical analysis.
Ensure convergence of industrial indicators, issue containment, rework timing and perimeter within the assembly plant.
Manage engineering robustness and launch issue solving before handover to manufacturing for volume production.
Accountable for safety conditions and ensuring working quality for the launch team.
Leads Technical review, status for each milestone, maturity plan tracking and handover to manufacturing.
Ensure high level of communication to the team and progress reporting to Management.
Ensure the progress pace of all launch activities,
Manage part conformity, design validation and change requests system for launch vehicle issues.
Responsible for escalation process, in contact with all partners, suppliers, subcontractors for timely resolution of issues.
Basic Qualification
Bachelor of Science in Engineering education.
Management of scheduling, organization, and internal processes for the launching phase activities.
Knowledge of Manufacturing processes and trades (stamping, welding, painting and assembly)
Self-motivator with a strong passion for automobiles and appreciation for quality.
Basic understanding of statistics and root cause problem solving.
Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills a must!
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Apps
High level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
Preferred Qualifications
Manufacturing process & launch experience is preferred.
Mastery of geometry assessments (technical documents and processes).
Knowledge of the BCI (Battery Council International) product design fundamentals
Knowledge of APQP/PPAP and Change Management processes.
