Summary: Plans, coordinates and directs activities concerned with the quality control and quality assurance of processes, materials, and products. Lead the development, implementation and training of the Quality System, to include software, procedures, work instructions and quality certification by performing the following duties personally or through others.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops, implements, and coordinates product assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of management team.
  • Develops initial and subsequent modifications of product assurance program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within program.
  • Evaluates contents of reports from product assurance program department heads and confers with top management personnel preparatory to formulating fiscal budget for product assurance program.
  • Conducts management meetings with product assurance program department heads to establish, delineate, and review program organizational policies, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
  • Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
  • Leads quality management team within the organization.
  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Designs and implements quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality and maintains related database.
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure product quality.
  • Prepares and maintains control plans and revises/audits floor processes, responds to customers quality concerns
  • Lead root cause analysis such as 8D and effective resolutions.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) and SQC methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance standards.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten years related experience. Automotive industry experience required.
  • OEM Automotive experience is preferred.
  • Ford Q1 knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of IATF16949 and IS014001
  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing training and experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
